She shuddered at the thought. "Ugh. How horrible."
Rolling her eyes as she followed Clyde at a quick pace, she replied, "Because I care what other people think of me? There are more people than just you in the universe. You have to look nice to impress them. And it's only polite to look good for the people you care about. You can rub it in the faces of people you don't. And I like to look good."
She picked up the pace a bit, trying to keep up with Clyde. "No need to be catty, Clyde. You were being so nice, too. But I was only aski-" The sentence ended in a stream of very unladylike words as her foot caught and slipped in a wet patch, hurling her forwards down the stairs. She grabbed the bannister to stop herself hitting the floor. "Damn."

"I'm the center of my own universe, I don't really care what other people think and if they don't like it, too bad." Clyde said blankly, although she was stating the undying obvious. "Well. Get all pretty tomorrow then, It's pitch black outside, you can't see two inches in front of your face, and I doubt anybody will be that close."
She rolled her eyes at the scolding, but stopped and looked back instantly at the swears. She jumped in surprise as Lizzie came down the stairs, she grabbed the banister and held an arm out, keeping both of them from barreling down the stairs to slam into the landing wall in a painful collision. The force made Clyde stumble back a step or two also, but she had a grip on Lizzie's arm, pushing her back up onto the flat, dry step three away from Clyde's.
"You alright?" She asked, concern quivered her voice as she studied her face, hesitating before hastily letting go of her, shoving her free hand into her pocket. Other one still gripping the banister.

Scowling at her own stupidity, Lizzie nodded. "I'm fine." And then, a long moment later, "Thank you." She offered the other girl a rather taut smile. "Are you alright?"
She hoped that Clyde hadn't been hurt, and she also, just slightly, not much, wondered why on earth she had been so clumsy. It could be these borrowed boots...yes, they were flats, and Lizzie was accustomed to heels. Normally she would have glided through puddles easily.
Shaking away her shock, ruffling her hair back into place, she continued down to Clyde's step. "Come on, then."

Once Lizzie seemed to have regain her footing, Clyde hesitated before releasing her arm. She felt somewhat sick, which quickly faded away at the assurance that Lizzie was indeed, okay. The concern surprised her, but she quickly brushed it away.
"Yeah, I'm fine, Little surprised."
She didn't seem to mind the klutz moment, licking her lips slightly, she hesitated as Lizzie came down to her step, turning her body and moving to go down the steps again. She pulled her shoulders back when she reached the first landing, giving the stairwell one more look over as to spies, and then opened the door, stepping back as a flurry of snowflakes flew in. Holding it open for Lizzie, patiently.

Lizzie grimaced. "Sorry."
Stepping through the door, she shivered, pulling Clyde's coat tighter around her. She wasn't great with cold weather, not really. Snow settled in her dark hair and on her shoulders fast, mottling her dark figure with white. She hung back slightly, seeing the gaggle of Misfits in the drive. In normal life, she wouldn't care for a few girls, but at night it felt like the school was their turf, and she was at her most vulnerable.
"Clyde, they won't mind, will they?" She jerked a thumb at the Misfits, trying to hide her slight nervousness and rather failing. "I mean, your clique kind of hate me."

The Misfits eyed the new member carefully, looking to each other questionably but saying nothing. Rather waiting to watch what Clyde was going to do next.
Clyde grabbed a stick and put it in the door lock, keeping it from engaging. She looked at Lizzie as she jerked her thumb over, following it and shrugging.
"So what if they have a problem?" Clyde questioned, keeping her eyes on Lizzie's face. "And your clique hates me, but, here I am, dragging one of their followers out into the snow at almost midnight. Didn't stop me." she offered a genuine, but smirk mixed, smile. Bending to scoop up some snow and pat it into a ball.
"Lets get going." She said, walking towards the back carriage. Stopping only to grab a misfit and dump the snow down the back of her shirt. Allowing a little bit of the naivety and rough-housing to be released before opening the door for Lizzie.

Lizzie was silent for a moment, then snorted with sudden laughter and followed the other girl to the carriage, swinging herself in with a grace she wouldn't have expected of anyone in this outfit. "Thank you," she said politely, folding her hands in her lap as she waited for Clyde to get in.
It looked oddly fun to be a Misfit, she thought absently, tapping her fingers on her trousered legs. A lot more freedom that Pretty Faces had, and the boisterous games they played looked like fun.
No. She almost physically shook her head in her efforts to get rid of those thoughts. She was Pretty Face, through and through, and her clique were her friends, and she was only out in the middle of the night in inappropriate clothing with a bunch of Misfits because...wait, why was she here?
Oh yes. It would be very ungracious to refuse Clyde's apology. That was it. Glad she'd worked that one out, she sat back and allowed herself to relax as much as she ever did.

Clyde grinned off the snow-filled Misfit, and ducked a snowball that thudded against the door of the carriage.
"Go away." she laughed to the other girl, climbing in after Lizzie.
Now the question, to sit across from the Pretty Face or next to her. She licked her chapped lips, moving to shut the door behind them.
"You're Welcome." Going with her gut instinct, she sat across from her. Now any move she made wouldn't be taken the wrong way.
Instantly she made herself comfortable, an arm draped along the back of the seats, her feet spread out and she touched her forehead to the cool glass window, breath fogging it up until she took her sleeve to wipe it off. Her numb fingers were comforted in warmth as she pulled the sleeves over her hands.
"It'll be more entertaining as the Night progresses." She assured her.

"I'll take your word for it," Lizzie assured her, crossing her ankles primly under the seat and offering the Misfit a small smile as the coach rattled into motion. "So, did you have anything particular in mind? It's been a while since I went to town without any of the girls." And 'a while' meant about five years here. Although fiercely independent of adult authority, Lizzie was fundamentally a quite insecure young lady, unused to doing anything alone. "So I leave it in your capable hands, although," she couldn't resist adding a little cattily, "I may well regret that later."

"Night is about you." Clyde said, brushing hair out of her back and leaning back. She scowled and shifted her jaw at the bitchy little statement. "Have a little faith." Clyde demanded, watching her with a smirk.
"We can play a game." She said, leaning forward, she grabbed the collar of the jacket Lizzie wore and reached in, what seemed like a suggestive move was simply for her to get her cigarettes. Sitting back and releasing the jacket, she snapped open the cigarettes and glanced inside.
"This is my last pack, there is six cigarettes left." She said, looking at Lizzie and holding up the box to show the rest. "I promise you, you're going to have fun. And if you at any point regret it. You can destroy the cigarettes left." She paused, "I can't get another box for at least a week, which means I'll get withdrawal and get really sick, therefore regretting my own idea."
She closed the box and held it out for Lizzie to take. "If you don't like it, my punishment will be to get insanely sick. Hows that?"

Lizzie jumped a bit when Clyde stuck her hand in her coat, then, inwardly laughing at her own stupidity, leant her chin on her hand and regarded her companion and the cigarettes in turn.
"You're determined to make me have fun, aren't you?" she eventually observed with a grin, taking the cigarettes off Clyde and turning the box over and over in her hands. "Well, I'm not going to argue with that." With an unusually impish smile, she replaced the packet inside the coat and returned to her demure pose.

Well, perhaps that was crossing the line. Oh well. What was Clyde with boundaries anyway?
"You will have fun...damnit." she added for extra emphasis. Giving her a smile, and a laugh. "Who knew you were so sadistic." she mused, leaning back and studying Lizzie's face carefully, glancing out the window as snowflakes clung to the glass.
She cussed herself out mentally for such a stupid bet. But also patted herself on the back. It was a huge step towards, what was the word? Oh, commitment. Even if it did include cigarettes and regret.

"Oh, didn't you know?" She smirked. "I'm positively demonic. I just love to watch you squirm." Glancing at Clyde, unfamiliar thoughts began to stir in her mind...well, not wholely unfamiliar. Rather similar to her thought process on that night under the Great Oak.
"Which," she assured her with a smirk that in no way exhibited her churning stomach and confusion, "is the only reason I'd do this." Putting her hands on Clyde's knees, she leant in close, intending to hover as close to the Misfit's face as possible for a few seconds. Only, because the universe was conspiring against Lizzie tonight, the coach lurched over a bump in the road and she jerked forwards, pressing her lips against her companion's.
And suddenly it was a hell of a lot harder to justify her thoughts to herself.
((Ayu is going to stop using cliche romance moments sometime, honest))

ooc:// nawh, they're funny xD clyde gets all uppity in my head xD like: "HEY! LOOKWHATSHEJUSTDID!"-nagnagreplyreplynagnag-
Clyde scoffed at the squirm statement. "You're more of a misfit than you think!" she stated, watching Lizzie go on and on about making her uncomfortable. Like she had a weakness, as far as clyde thought, she had no weaknesses.
but she was sadly mistaken, the second Lizzie's hands touched her knees, she felt her chest tighten. Before she knew it Lizzie's face was mere millimeters away. She felt Lizzie's breath against her lips, and her body stiffened. A bump in the road created the contact, and once again Clyde's mind plunged into a love-sick, downward spiral.
She knew it wasn't intentional, which concerned her slightly, but not enough to keep her from kissing back.

((Lizzie LAUGHS in the face of your head!Clyde! XP))
Lizzie responded half-involuntarily, deepening the accidental kiss, her heartbeat thundering in her ears. She fancied she could hear Clyde's heart too, echoing in the confined space, but maybe that was just her own rushing blood. Her hands shifted on Clyde's legs, adjusting her balance...
She realised what she was doing and pulled back, trying to control the flaming blush inching onto her annoyingly pale face. She'd thought all about it, hadn't she, promised herself that she would hold back, decided that these feelings were dangerous.
Christ, she was stupid.
She sat back, pushing her hair back with a flustered hand. "I'm not a misfit. I have a place."
