My name is Hatter Madigan Redd. I usually go by that, but some people like to call me, Hat, Hats, Mad, Madigan, Twin 1, or Dodge after my lovely twin brother. I will be turning eighteen on October, 6th or 10/6. Surely my fellow Lovestruck fellows will congratulate the Hatter and I on that glorious day. We are their co-leaders after all (Dodge is the other, but that's only because I'm a very nice brother).
Oh, yeah, about that chap James Phelps who is supposed to look like me... Tell him to swing by! Dodge and I could always use another ginger conspirator.
APPEARANCE[/i] Hatter’s skin is pale white as most redheads are prone to be. It was very rare, and very unnatural to see a violently tanned red haired person as it was to see, well, a person walking around with blue hair, and so, Mr. Redd, was blessed/or cursed with the standard. There is a red undertone to all of it so that he looks naturally flushed, or it may be that he was recently running from the scene of a prank. Whatever the reason, there are many times when Hatter looks more like a crab than a person. This, of course, isn't helped by the massive amount of freckles dotting every part of his body that sees sunlight. -clears throat-
Body Type. Hatter Redd and his twin are slim. Slimmer than slim. Considering either of them as fine physically fit specimen would be an overstatement for while neither of them verged on fat, neither of them verged on muscular. Hatter and his brother are lanky and tall, standing about six-foot-one-inch and weighing an average of one hundred forty-eight pounds each. Of course, one might consider that their legs are the most toned because they are constantly running from place to place, but then, one might argue their arms were better worked out. Dodge recalls a time when Hatter was hanging from his for more than an hour or two.
Eyes. Brown, their eyes are an orange-ish brown color contained in an almond shape. Each eye is framed by fair colored eyelashes that grow fair blond at the roots and steadily darker as they arch out. And then each eye is further framed by ginger colored eyebrows, usually cocked in expressions of amusement, excitement, or mirth. They're used to express most of Dodge's emotions and a movement of the brow could convey a drastic change in mood.
Hair. The twins have similar haircuts. Their hair is cut down to their shoulders, shaggy and the color of ginger, more orange than red, really. It shakes when they turn their heads. It bounces when they walk, and it blows in the wind. Really, the pair could be super models or something with their long locks. Occasionally, when Dodge is sick of people considering them the same person, he'll shear off his hair in a hack job cut above his ears. However, he hasn't done that recently due to the fact someone said he looked like a naked mole rat afterward.
Facial Structure. Hatter and his brother have long, oval shaped faces. Their jaws are narrow and their chins pointed, only slightly evened out by a tiny straight line. The laugh lines are well used and pronounced. When each twin's face slips into a smile, their jawbones are outlined and high, and crinkles appear under their eyes. Dodge and Hatter were both blessed with straight, white teeth, which really is a godsend because they're always smiling and laughing at something.
Posture. Gait. Aura. Unlike his brother. Hatter is the more fun-loving, but serious twin. As such, his walk is slightly bouncier then his brother’s. even though the two walk in step, Hatter has the habit of shoving his hands into his back or front pockets when he walks. His posture isn’t the best, but he isn’t one to worry about it. When he’s running, he runs faster than his brother, always arriving at the scene a few seconds before. Hatter’s aura is of two minds. Sometimes he has a fun aura about him. When you feel it, you know he’s up to no good, though he solemnly swears he isn’t. Hatter’s other aura is his serious one. He tends to show this more often than not.
Usual Expression & Defining Features. So, the real question is this: How do you tell one devilishly good looking twin from the other? Both of them say that they’re the better looking twin, but how do you tell them apart? Well, Hatter tends to part his hair a different way than Dodge. Which way, he won’t tell you. But how you really tell is that Hatter has one defining feature, albeit hard to spot: he has a small scar above his left eyebrow.

BIOGRAPHY[/i] had to.
Genevieve was a surprise to everyone. Alice was growing worse and worse, the doctor proved it to be schizophrenia. Leopold was enraged. He blamed Genevieve and the boys, for being too childish and immature, for pulling to many tricks that confused her. Hatter stood up for his brother and himself, and got smacked. His Father decided no one could know about Alice’s condition. He locked her away, keeping her prisoner in her own house. If anyone asked about her, he lied. He told her she was vacationing in Venezuela, for her health. Hatter and Dodge could only go on with the lie and keep poor little Gen, poor, confused little Gen, out of their Father’s way. They both grew to resent Leopold, and they practically raised Gen on their own. Leopold was either busy with his art or off somewhere else, away from them and their Mother. The man thought that, if he kept away from his mistakes, they’d disappear. The fool.
With the twins in school, it seemed like no force could stop them. They played tricks on others, buckets of water dropped from windows, tacks on the teachers’ chairs, you name it, they did it. Their Mother couldn’t stop them, since she couldn’t leave the house and their Father couldn’t either, he was always away. The teachers eventually gave up on them. They were still watching Gen, and they proved to be better parents then their Mother and Father could ever hope to be. Hatter was still the one that was the most responsible; he took his duties as a brother quite seriously.
Many teachers asked the boys if they ever had nightmares. They often came to school half-awake or drowsy. They said no, they never had nightmares in their lives, even when they were children. The teachers asked why, and they shrugged it off, saying they just never did. The truth was that they didn’t need nightmares to terrify them into being awake, Alice did that just fine. Hatter often looked back to a time when all three of them would go into the twin’s room (they shared a room, not out of necessity, but out of personal choice) to sleep at night, and Dodge and Gen would fall asleep to the soft glow of Hatter’s reading lamp, and the sound of his voice, reading from the many books they owned. Hatter never seemed to get a full week of good night’s sleep, between Dodge or Gen or both crawling in at some point in the night.
As the years dragged on, Leopold grew more and angrier with the boy’s tomfoolery. He threatened them, but they never listened, thinking his threats to be empty. Then, he sent them away to Florence. They were freshman, and it was like a living hell. They never knew if Genevieve was okay or not. They couldn’t share rooms. They barely even had any classes together. Yet, the fire burns brightest when circumstances are grim. Hatter and Dodge grew to rule the school, in their own little quirky way. While they may not have been part of the higher cliques, people still liked them, and they never did anyone any harm. A few pranks were pulled here and there, but it was all harmless fun. Hatter and Dodge got along fine, coming back to see Gen in the summer, who had all but gone crazy without her brothers. She was a nervous wreck without them, fearing their Mother or their Father, whoever hit her that day. The boys put their heads together before deciding Gen should stay with Aunt Georgina, who lived in London, thankfully enough. They took her on the train with them, and during their sophomore year, there were happy, happy times. But Leopold wasn’t happy with his sons, and he took Gen back home the moment it was summer. By then, the boys had enough of their family.
As soon as the twins were to turn eighteen, they wanted custody of their sister. They argued with the court; with their insane mother and abusive father, Genevieve was sure to go mad herself. It was a long junior year for the boys, between school work, and court battles, there was little time for fun. Eventually, the court threw them out; they weren’t eighteen yet, so there was no point in arguing over custody, according to the judge. The twins once again went back to school, sending Gen to live another year with aunt Georgina. This time, they hoped, things would work out for the better.[/ul]
