I'm a man of wealth and taste...
Appearance:
Have you ever been told that you look exactly like your mother? That is the exact case with Iris. The slight oval curve of her face reflects neither blemishes nor freckles. There is a slight rosy color that hints on each of her cheeks that makes her look young and refreshed. Her lips are pale and small, but easily spew out insults and conversation. Eyebrows sit clean and thin above captivating blue eyes that seem to steal your soul.
During the winter she turns a ghostly shade of white that never seems to warm up to summer days. Her body is thin and fragile looking, barely muscle on her bones. She stands at a small height, creating a petite look all over. Iris’ fingers are long and elegant and create a sense of ease in her movements. Along her body, hidden under the fabric, are scars. Some longer, some bigger and mostly residing on her back. She’s ashamed of them and hides them as much as she can and when she can’t, lies easily come to her.
Her pose is strong and she carries herself with a sense of fake pride that she’s practiced enough to be believed. Iris takes long strides with her head held high. Some say that if a book were to be placed on her head that it would not fall. Even when she is sitting she makes herself out to be the perfect young lady. It is in the moments that she slips up, forgets, that the bags under her eyes seem to stand out and the fatigue that still lingers on her after all these years slips out before she remembers with a jolt and it all fades to happiness and pose.
Personality:
The first thing that people notice about Iris is the cold front that seems to hit them hard in the chest. She simply does not tolerate small conversations and does not wish to deal with people mostly. Because of the history with her father, Iris has learned to put up this front to protect herself. If she becomes standoffish, no one will want to approach her and hurt her.
Underneath the snowy cover, Iris is a very vulnerable girl. She lacks the confidence that she seems to protrude to the world. The layers beneath are friendly, warm, the inner child yearning to be set free. She can be funny, smart, loving even. But to the world she is what she has learned to be, cold.
There are rare moments when Iris truly and completely smiles, laughing fully and awakening something warm in her. This would require a long lasting friendship and trust built between the two people.
Another flaw per say about Iris is her inability to trust people. In most cases she’ll tend to do things herself, lie her ass off, and just never open up. There has to be some way to break past the cold outside to make it to the warmth. Time, patience, and love will get you there, but not many want to waste the time.
Likes:
Dislikes:
Dreams: Of maybe seeing what it’s like to be truly loved and starting a family. She never got to see motherly love, and she wants to know if somewhere, deep inside she can love like that.
Fears: Loosing power, Becoming poor, The dark, Drowning, Dying in general, Ghosts that may or may not haunt the school, Rumors, Old age, Being weak, Not being adored, men, Her Father.

I've been around for a long, long year...
History:
With each beginning comes an end. This was no different with Iris’ case. Her name alone gave the distinct difference in the opinions of her parents. Iris, meaning “rainbow” chosen by her mother, while Laila meaning “dark beauty”, being almost complete opposites. The later of the two more fitting as her role in the Pretty Faces developed.
The day Iris was born marked the death of her mother. The pregnancy had been too much for her and within an hour of Iris’ life, her mother was pronounced dead. This meant that she would be brought up by her father, who was not found of children and angry that he had lost his beautiful wife. Logan’s life seemed to spiral out of control; he picked up drinking and soon began to revert to more violent ways of dealing with things. He had contemplated giving her up for adoption, but with society’s eyes watching him, he decided he would keep Iris, but that didn’t mean he would have to enjoy her presence. Everywhere they went he played the fatherly role, but once they entered the doors at home he was a distant figure, avoiding the child he had created.
Nannies began to come into Iris’ life, a new one every so often, and Logan would constantly give her the cold shoulder. She was too young to understand why he’d rush from a room upon her arrival, or why he would barely say two words to her ever. She assumed that this was normal, that all dads were like this. But somewhere in her, Iris yearned for the love and affection that she should be receiving.
Sometime during her young childhood years, she went to explore the house and happened upon Logan’s office, a room she had yet to adventure to. Above it was a painting of a beautiful woman, who reflected much of the features upon her own face. When her father stumbled in, he was furious at her for being there, coming into his space. He beat her then, called her names, threw her out of the office. The child didn’t know what to do, she was broken. One of the servants actually began to make it his mission to watch over her and he did, when she was hurt he’d nurse her back to health. Bandage her wounds and cuts, bring her food, and let her heal. He became her best friend and stayed very loyal to her.
The beatings continued as she grew older, and words were added to the list. This was the start of a snowball effect. Iris slowly began to curl more and more into herself, not allowing anyone else in. She started to create a face and a showing for everyone, a bitch wall to keep others out. By the time she was sent off to Florence Academy she had retained this attitude and was flocked into the Pretty Faces easily. To this day she still receives beatings from Logan whenever she comes home, but she’s refused to tell anyone. She doesn’t want to ruin her image.
Family:
Father: Logan James Smith
Mother: Elizabeth Marie Kingsolver Smith (deceased)
Anything you'd like to add?: She has a really strong connection with one of the servants at her house that would help her get out of a lot of trouble or help heal her up.
