I'm a man of wealth and taste...
Appearance:
This pretty face and sexy body knows what she's got, even if she acts like she doesn't have the brain to realize it. Miss Thatchor stands at the unseemly height of 5 feet and 11 inches with curves in all the right places. Her stomach is flat thanks to the little she eats and the... (cough) sexual (cough) workouts she get's done on a daily basis. In her mind, she would be nowhere without her body. As most of the other girls in school, she is forced to wear that hideous school uniform, but unlike so many girls in the school, she has tampered with it, allowing the neckline to dip lower and bringing the waist in even a little bit more.
Her angel blue eyes can take on the expressions of her life- ranging from simmering with anger to dumb as a doornail. More often than not she looks thoughtful, her eyes glittering with some sort of mischief that she is about to unleash. They are slanted and cat-like, giving her a slightly mysterious look. Her eyes are framed with thick black lashes that she enhances even more with makeup that she's bought from town. Her baby face is framed by golden blond hair that falls in soft waves around her head, hiding her small ears from view. Her nose is long and sharp, sloping down from her between her eyes, flat from having never been broken. And her lips are a soft pink, plump and (what she belives) wonderfully kissable.
Her chin is softly rounded, and she has high cheekbones that keep her from having rounded cheeks, and an angled jawline that looks strong- one of the only things she had going for her when she was in the misfits, otherwise the others all called her too soft. (Always behind Clyde's back though, they didn't want to get their asses beat...).
Thanks to her height, this young woman has long arms and legs. Her fingers are long as well- fingers that would normally be associated with a piano player or artist- but this young lady has none of those special talents. Upon her wrists she wears pearl bracelets that her mother sends her- even though the headmistress really, really hates it. It's just the rebel in her coming out. Her fingernails are poilshed and rounded at the tips, though long.
As stated earlier, she knows her body gets her places, and her hour glass shape contributes to it. While her "curves" aren't huge, they are there- subtly. She struts down the hall like she owns the place, swaying her ass back and forth. And when she passes a boy she likes, she turns her head back, bats her lashes over her baby blues and then attacks.
It bruises her ego that she has to be the huntress, but she always enjoys reeling in her male prey.
Salem wears her heart on her sleeve, and any of her good friends could tell you that- but Clyde could tell you best. She loves to let people know when she's happy or sad, her eyes always betraying her when her body language does not. But normally, when she's tortured with sadness, she'll stick her first two fingers (her index and middle finger) in her mouth, never chewing on her nails though. She claims it helps hold in the emotion and words. She's given to tears easily, but if she's pissed, she'll hold the grudge, and you can see it very, very easily on her face. She'll set her jaw, her eyes go flat, and she'll stare at you across the room with a glare that could knock one of the toughest pretty face off her feet.
You'll often see Salem playing with her hair, pulling one lock apart from the rest and twirling it around her fingers when she's bored or someone is boring her. Playing with her hair is one of her bad habits- but she has lots of those...
Her clothes have all been tampered with. Lots of high heels, deep necklines, and tight waists and chests. She can't help it. It's just who she is. Even if it bothers certain people or makes others mad- the men like it.
And normally that's who she is trying to impress.
Personality:
Depending on who you are, what day it is, or her mood, you could get many different responses when you first meet her. Like any other person, she's got so many layers and levels, and she works in the same way- if she's in a bad mood she'll take it out on you. But she can't be perfect. She's only human.
Most of the rumors circulating the school are that Salem is a shallow two-bit slut that bangs anything she can get her hands on. Now, that's a bit harsh. True, she enjoys flaunting and showing off her body a bit more than what her society and the time will allow, but that's just who she is.
Honestly though, Salem is just any other girl stuck in the wrong time.
She does have her… slutty habits. More often than not, you’ll find her after some guy, twirling in a new short dress she’s just “made” by sawing off the bottom of a beautiful, expensive gown, or with her many friends giggling like a school girl about some boy. Despite the fact that she knows she has a beautiful body she has a very, very low self-esteem, which is why she is in the Heartbreakers.
When she is really down, Salem reverts to her slutty habits, going out of her way to let a guy “take care of her” for the night, since she can’t seem to take care of herself.
She’s never been suicidal, but after she found out about Clyde’s affair with a certain someone she started looking in the mirror and seeing everything that was wrong with her.
In an attempt to hide this from everyone, she wears the clothes she wears and preens in front of the mirror. Honestly, it would be her worst nightmare if they found out how self-conscious she was about every little thing and how little she thinks of herself. The glitz and glam is just a cover-up.
When in “slut-mode” Salem acts like a total ditz, knowing that acting vulnerable and dumb tends to attract more guys. Saying that, her “mode” varies from guy to guy, especially if they hate dumb blondes. But mostly, she pretends she has no brain cells, pulls her dress down and cinches up the corset.
She isn’t the leader of the Heartbreakers, but sometimes she acts like she is.
But it isn’t all stupidity for Miss Thatchor, surprisingly she has some brain cells- not many. These shine forth in her classes, which she understands pretty well. Especially Literature and French. Math and science are still a bit of a struggle for her. Not many know she actually has a brain, not with the way she acts during free period or when most people can see her out and about. In fact, her parent’s riches and her grades in classes are probably the only reason she is in the school still. The very few people that know she has a brain don’t talk much about the moments that she says something intelligent- but one of these people is Clyde, obviously because they are childhood friends. And as far as Salem is concerned, will be forever.
The dear girl wears her heart on her sleeve. Anyone with eyes (or even just one) can tell if she’s happy or sad. She’ll run around beaming, her eyes lit up and excited, her mouth twisted into a beautiful smile, her white teeth shining through. And when she is upset… Well, anyone can tell. Her blue eyes will well up with tears and if you don’t like waterworks you best move away from the area. She’ll cry a river and drown the whole entire world. But, interestingly enough, when you make Salem mad, she won’t let you know through actions such as these. She floats around you like she still trusts, loves slash likes, and cares about you. And for all you know nothing has happened between your friendship…
And then little things begin to happen. She doesn’t agree with you about a color of choice for a dress, she deliberately changes something you wanted, she ignores you in conversation for a moment, or in some people’s cases (cough Clyde cough) she’ll push you out of bed when you’re pressed up against the wall. And unless you do something absolutely amazing, then she holds a grudge against you until you die.

I've been around for a long, long year...
History:
Even though Salem Thatchor was born into the world like any other child on December 29 in New York next to her soon-to-be-best-friend her real story started back with her Grandfather: Jamison. The only reason she possibly came into the world as she knows it was because of a deal that her grandfather struck up with another man who was in the Investment Business. Her mother and his daughter became friends instantly, and were as inseparable as she and Clyde are today. She believes that fate and investments brought them together, and only investments will tear them apart.
Anyway, her father, Theodore Thatchor, a brave American approached Lucille Paxter and the two began to date. Teddy, as he was often referred to affectionately by Lucy, was the son of a steel baron and was promised a very large sum of money. He had attended a boy’s school in the states when he was young, and had never traveled to Europe, though promised her he would love to see the world. However it happened, it happened (there are many rumors circulating that the young couple practiced intimacy before being wed) but she and her friend: Claudia’s due dates were the same day.
And born practically together- perhaps Clyde only seconds before- were the two squalling babies. Exposed to the world. Neither of Salem’s parents had any idea what sort of trouble she would get into in the years to come.
Though they tried for a boy, Lucy Thatchor never could again become pregnant. So Salem enjoys life’s pleasures of being a one and only child loved so much by both of her parents.
Salem learned early on, though, that she really had two sets of parents…
Considering she and Clyde were glued to the hip when young, Salem spent much of her time in Clyde’s home, eating her food, sleeping in her bed, sitting in her chair. She loved Clyde’s parents just as much as she loved her own. Without anyone really realizing it, she adopted them into her family herself. They were raised as sisters, bathing together, dressing in the same outfits, learning together, talking together- often finishing each other’s sentences. However, they did not grow to be sisters… All of this was discovered on that fateful day…
Salem was nervous about Clyde’s older brother, having recently acquired a very large crush for the older boy and had been ranting about what kissing was like to an absolutely silent Clyde Demonte. So, to both girl’s surprise Salem turned around and planted one right on her friend’s lips.
“God what did you eat?!” She remembers screeching, wiping her lips off with the back of her hand, but now there was no going back. They both knew that they liked each other and there was nothing, absolutely nothing either one could do about it.
They were shipped off to Florence six years later than other girls- but those six years not spent there were filled with adolescent love. Both hanging off of the other, often disappearing into rooms of the house, hiding behind closed doors and shuttered windows. And the hormones only added to the dangerous mix.
It was without open arms that Florence accepted them into the family.
It was there that she and Clyde ventured to create The Misfits, a group for girls that didn't fit in... They ruled together, from the beginning, becoming strong.
Something started happening to her and Clyde's relationship, though. And though it took dear Salem awhile, she came to a terrible understanding.
Lizzie.
A Pretty Face.
Clyde had been ignoring her lately, putting off dates, saying very little, and it was all for some no good, rich, snot nosed girl that didn't even put out. She acted like she didn't know, except for little things; pushing Clyde out of bed. Locking her out of their room. Not covering for her when she was late. Generally just floating away from her bestfriend of seventeen years. She still isn't sure who really made the decision, but months before Clyde's older brother died, Clyde booted Salem from the position of best friend, leaving her to fend for herself, rather helpless.
Still, she went to the funeral, returning back sooner than Clyde, giving Lizzie a death threat, knowing it wouldn't do anything. And then, she joined The Heartbreakers.
She floated down to the heartbreakers, becoming a new recruit and slowly working her way up to where she is today.
