I'm a man of wealth and taste...
Appearance:
"I..."
JUST KIDDING
Kurtis is about six foot two inches and while lean and in shape has none of that six pack nonsense. In fact, his stomach is a bit... round. Not in a bad way at all, simply... no massive muscle there unless he flexes. He likes to think he's normal... His arms are strong, as are his shoulders, though, given the era and time period, this isn't something that happens often. Normally, his not-ripped chest is covered up by fancy clothes in multiple shades, but most often in his "wonderful" school uniform.
He has blueish-grey eyes that hide under bushy, yet-still-trimmed, eyebrows. He is known around school for the rebellious act to not shave the stubble that grows around his slightly grounded, pointy chin, making him look much, much older than 17. Unlike many of the other male pupils in the school, he keeps his hair cut short so that it is never in his eyes and always looks neat- he'll never wake up with bed head, but it isn't ever too short for sex hair. He keeps it short enough so you can see his swooping hair line that almost makes a wave on his rather tall forehead. Kurtis's ears lay flat on the side of his head rather than protrude to the sides, and a bad habit of his is to play with the lobe of his ear- pulling on it and such- when he is nervous or thinking a little bit too hard.
Kurtis has plump lips and a large, welcoming smile that almost always shows teeth when it is genuine. However, when being snide or smug his bright white, polished teeth remain hidden by his Cupid's bow lips. His nose comes down at a sharp angle right where it should be- in the middle of his face. It rounds out at the tip, his nostrils wide and sometimes flared in anger, concentration, or terror (much like Poe's nostrils when she is screaming XD). His jawline is a gradual slope, unlike much of the of the other "men" in his grade, and is not sharp and impressive. In fact, it makes him look like a weak kisser, even when his lips look wonderfully kissable. (Which isn't often).
Kurtis often uses his "school-boy charm" to get what he wants. He'll smile, his skin crinkling up around his bright blue-grey eyes, his school uniform looking like it was made for him, and his calm, deep voice practically guiding the teacher's (or young lady's) hand to exactly where he wanted it to go. When it doesn't work- the teacher or woman possibly immune to his trickery- he pulls out the money factor, claiming that he would buy the moon for that person if he could- or if it be a male then throw him in prison because his father has the power.
Because of this bad, bad habit, it is quite often that he'll reach into the pocket of his blazer, sometimes pulling out paper money which he enjoys showing off.
While he will normally wear clothing that reflects his fortune, when he is relaxing with the guys, he'll chose to wear beat up brown or black slacks and a plain white, sometimes dirty, shirt that he slouches around town in, a cap pulled low over his eyes. He had a hat stolen by Salem Thatchor when he first arrived here, she a year older than him and now gone into the world.
Another habit of his, is that his hands often touch his face. A finger pressed to his lips, a knuckle in his teeth, a hand over his eyes, a thumb and fore finger pinching the bridge of his nose, all of these things depend on his mood, but one thing he seldom does, unless very, very stressed, is run his hands through his hair.
He does not like how it makes his hair greasy.
He walks around the halls of Florence with self importance, his shoulders thrown back and his head held high in might. His blue eyes glisten with excitement at the word of adventure or profit. He enjoys having women hang off of his arm but even more he enjoys pampering them.
He wants to control the world with magic.
And with his status, he believes that some day, he will.
Personality:
Kurt normally rubs people the wrong way. At first glance, or when first meeting the young man, he comes off as cocky, power hungry, egotistical, and arrogant. All bad traits in a man- especially one that wants to rule the world. It doesn't help that he can be a complete douche bag to people that piss him off, often being able to pinpoint a direct, icy stare their way from across a room, making them feel unwanted. Another thing that people pick up quickly is that he knows he is important and he isn't slow to tell people that.
But this young man isn't completely one sided. Sure, he still acts like a pig more often than not, but when around his new clique he acts like the king he is and the good friend that his followers deserve. He'll stretch a helping hand out to those that he thinks deserve it, where as will scoff at those poor people that "are obviously scum of the earth". Did I mention his priorities are completely screwed?
He acts the part of a leader, guiding his men carefully through the school toward their goal, and teaching new recruits exactly what to do, sometimes acting a bit like a military general. He knows how to laugh and joke with those he calls his friends, often sitting on the street corners in the small town of Florence right outside of the school, whistling to the girls that stroll by and wishing he had the power to lift up their skirts. All of them imagining what could lay beneath the folds of fabric. When "seeing" a woman, though- as much as he is able to see them in this damnable school- he acts as sweet as honey, completely turning around on them to be as kind as can be. He pampers them, enjoys buying them things, enjoys stroking their soft hair, feeling it flow beneath his fingers.
He's a bit girl crazy- but not enough to be in the Love Struck.
This is not to say, however, that his temper will not snap.
While Kurt can be a gentlemen to women he's seeing, a pig to women on the street, an egotistical prat to those who don't like him, and a best friend... Don't think you really know him. Kurt is this... ticking time bomb. Hist temper is constantly about to go off, his fuse very short, and his anger... can last for days.
You won't even know it's coming if you don't have the trained eye. For those that don't know him well enough, he could seemingly go from laughing at a joke to flipping over tables and ready to strangle you to death. He can be dangerous. Too bad he's so damn charismatic. But to those that do know what to watch for, they have to watch close.
It starts with the body, just barely, his stomach muscles will tighten, causing him to sit or stand straighter or higher. If he is sitting, he'll stand up so that he can be, or attempt to be, the tallest one in the room. He may pace, depending on if the conversation is going on, or starting to die down. He'll stare at the one person, or multiple people that he is planning to go off on for several seconds to a minute before not looking at them again. And then, while he's pacing his arms will cross over his chest, and when they uncross, you know that you've just asked for a visit from the Grim Reaper.
If angry enough, Kurt will literally jump at you, his large hands throwing an easy, hard punch. His strong arms willing to break a nose. If he is a more controlled mood, he'll simply flip over the chair he was sitting in, his nostrils widening as he breathes in a breath before beginning to yell obscenities at the person they are directed at.
It is frightening how angry he gets.
And when it happens, you best hope you can run, because otherwise you will walk away with several bruises. He doesn't yield his temper to men only, and will also lash out at women- especially when he doesn't get what he wants. Or when he is teased too much.
And then.
Just like that, all that temper will melt away, he'll sit back down his chair, talk to the person next to him like nothing happened and not talk to the person he yelled at for a week and suddenly he'll be his best bud again.
On bad, bad days, the anger can go on for awhile. On good days... not too long.
Otherwise, the young man has many facets. He's caring. Kind. A snob. Arrogant. Crude. Snide... He's a regular human being with an anger issue and a thirst for magic and power to rule the world.

History:
-deep breath-
Kurtis Lowe was born on the tenth of Janurary in the middle of one of the winter season's biggest, coldest, and longest snows. The doctor that delievered him ended up staying the night for the next three days in his father and mother's house while Kurtis lay squalling in the next room over. He was born healthy, his mother naming him after her father, his father only agreeing because he believed it to be a good, strong name. While the baby was born heathly, he was frail, premature a few weeks, but all the same, as he exited the womb he screamed like any other normal, strong boy was supposed to.
He was a second born child, the first a girl, and so he was his father's pride and joy. His mother was just happy to get him out of her belly for it had grown... quite a bit. He grew up like any other normal rich boy. At first pampered by his sister who dressed him up and had tea parties with him, who played in the yard and who taught him to wrestle. All of this was put to a stop when she was sent away to an all girl's boarding school in France. And while he dearly missed his sister, he had two other boys to play with that were born two years after him as twins. And finally, a young girl was born four years later, and all of the boys simply adored to pamper her as if she were a kitten or toy, constantly going out of their way to buy her little toys, to hold her and care for her, feed her and dress her up for mum- who greatly appreciated the break.
Kurt was sent away to Florence- where his father attended as the best friend of the handsome eyes-Dante's father's bestfriend- as soon as he turned ten. He packed his bags, gave a tearful goodbye to his mother who held him close, and sucked it up in front of his father, who patted him on the back and said that if he failed to hold up the family name he should just not come home at all.
Well.
Kurtis really took those words to heart, knowing that he had to come home eventually to see both Lauren and Emma, his two sisters, and his mother, and Tripp and Chadwick, his brothers. So he gave one last sniff as he hugged his father's round middle and then boarded the train to go off to Hotwarts- I mean, Florence Academy. He had no wand. No magic powers then. He was just a rich kid with his hair slicked back wearing expensive clothes and a pile of spending money in his pocket. He was really much like all of the other boys that he soon came to call his friends.
It took Kurtis all of a dining experience to find his group.
The first night at Florence he settled down next to a boy he would soon learn went by the name of Dorian Crictern who also came from wealth and who was also friends with Dante Yerami. It seemed that they got along well enough, and that at least he and Dorian were sort of friends. The three of them quickly fell into place as the Handsome Eyes of the new group of kiddies, and boy, did they live up to their expectations.
He was an impecable student at the art of Science and Math, but couldn't quite get down the Latin language and couldn't understand why Shakespear was so important... But he passed. And that was what counted.
When he returned home for winter break his father couldn't be more proud, and Kurt was excited that he was still part of the family.
All he had to do now as continue doing what he was doing. He never really rose up in the ranking of the Handsome Eyes. He stayed back, probably because of his anger issues and how he chose to dress the first time they got to go into town. He wasn't exactly shunned from the group that day, but they didn't talk to him much either. But when Dante and Dorian moved up to take the top two spots he stayed down just beneath them, waiting silently for one to slip.
He would never have thought he'd be the first to fall.
Now, as a member of the Handsome Eyes, and a decent friend to Dorian, he knew who he could make fun of and who he really couldn't. But it was really he and Dorian that enjoyed poking fun at Cicily Jaden Stone as much as they could. They both, if not all of the group, knew of her not-so-secret love for Dorian, and while they all teased him about it, most of the teasing was directed at her.
So he knew he wasn't allowed to like her, and in a way he hated her, but she had a sort of alluring beauty that he honestly couldn't stay away from. It drew him to her and she knew nothing of it. He said nothing to his friends, fearing that they may kick him out for being soft, and he didn't want to slip from his high ledge and make his father angry... And of course, he didn't want to make his friend, Dorian, angry with his choice in women. So he kept his mouth firmly closed.
He didn't want to be labled has a traitor.
Through the first six years of schooling, he and Dorian became like two peas in a pod, and Dante only added to the fun. They all grew in rank, though Kurtis stayed behind Doraian as the best friend- since he knew Dante would pick Dorian over him anyway. But it was in the sixth year there that something really happened. He didn't want it to, it shouldn't have, but it did. And the memory of that fateful night that tore him away from his clique since the beginning still haunts him today.
The moon was full, and he was out prowling the grounds after dinner, trying to get a breath of fresh air, trying to breath after one of the newest recruits had boiled his anger down to the wick and he had exploded, flinging food across the dining room hall. He was lucky he'd gotten out of there when he did, and he hoped some one would cover for him, because he did not want to be sent to the headmaster's office... again.
He hadn't expected to run into anybody, especially not Cicily Stone. But there she was, sitting on the dock by the lake, her bare feet dipping into the water, her school uniform glowing in the moonlight, gathered up to her mid thigh.
He knew he wans't supposed to find her attractive- but Kurt was girl-crazy and the sight of so much exposed leg made his little heart go "thump-thrump-thump-thrump-thump" in his chest.
She was crying.
He could make out that much, when she looked at him she had streaks of make up running down her face. He stepped back in surprise at her look of anger. He failed to ask her why she was crying, he remembered that, he sort of just stood there, shocked, knowing that she was upset about Dorian and Iris's announcement to wed. (I KNOW THAT WAS LATER BUT SHUSH!) There had been a grand announcement that night and a plan for a Bachelor party was immediately thought up by Kurt, who said that he was sure the Heartbreakers would love to play a role in the ordeal. So, honestly, he had no need to ask why she was sobbing before him.
He didn't move as she stood up, the uniform still held up by her clenched fist, didn't flinch back as she walked up to him, her pale skin shining in the moonlight, and he didn't object as she pushed herself against him her lips finding his expertly.
He didn't see the smirk on her lips or hear the words: "Maybe this will teach him." All he knew was that suddenly Cicily Stone was kissing him in a way that was completely against the rules, and he was kissing her back, realizing for the first time that even though she spoke with a snakes tongue she sure as hell didn't kiss with one.
That was not something he planned to tell Dorian either.
But the kissing got more passionate, more heated, and so neither objected when she finished unbuttoning his shirt, throwing it to the ground, or when he pulled her dress farther up her hips, allowing her to fall down on top of him.
That night, they didn't care that becoming one as they did, that making love was against the rules. And the next morning... he would forget it ever happened, she would look upon him with hate and disgust again.
But something did happen that night, as he pushed inside of her and they moved together.
She released something to him.
And no, it wasn't an egg.
It was magic.
They literally made magic bloom as they made love on the dock.
And it never left him.
The next day there was talk of what had happened between them, since they had both disappeared at the same time, but he beat all of the rumors down, still feeling the magic coursing inside of him and not understanding what it was. He didnt' know what he had until his temper flared again, and he shattered the mirrors in the boy's restroom with his voice. When the boy it was directed at ran, he leaned over the sinks, jumping back when he realized that the countertop was now gold.
It didn't take the Elite leader, Phillip Looring to find him and pull him away from the Handsome Eyes with incredible skill.
It quickly became apparent that he had dropped the Handsome Eyes, with very little explanation to his friends, especially Dante and Dorian, and while he tried to continue to be friends with them, he knew that they may possibly hate him forever. It was his regrettable decision, but from the moment Phillip Looring knew about him, he rocked the leader's world. And quickly, Kurtis became Phillip's Best Friend.
He was constantly holding it above the other's heads that he had magic. He never told them how he'd been gifted with it, though as soon as Cicily found out, she was out for his blood.
But both Phillip and Cicily graduated that year, leaving Kurtis to rule and be free from the constant near death situtations she seemed to always be leaving him.
And now he rules.
His friendship possibly ruined between the two handsome eyes, but he always wants to fix it.
Maybe after he rules the world.
DONE! XD
