I'm a man of wealth and taste...
Appearance: Melody has a rather small frame. But that always helped when she would play with the other males of the camp. Though for her small size and appearance, she has more strength then most females. Again, due to the many games.
Her skin is a pinkish color, strangely enough. Her father was a rather pale man, so that is assumed where she got the light tone. Just below her ribs is a branding of a pentagram, from her father. Thankfully, the brand is easily hidden.
Her hair is raven black and falls exactly seven inches past her shoulders. When she lived at the camp, she would sneak onto the grounds to steal some of the roses to entwine into her hair. Other then the occasional flowery decoration, her hair is usually free. Her eyes are another concept. They are a bright green color that have an almost cat like quality to them. Which is rather strange for her father has brown eyes and her mother as well. Long eyes lashes frame her green eyes, making her seem somewhat girly as her male friends soon realized.
Personality: Melody is a brave young woman and is rather independent. She dosen't like to show pain and if she happens to get hurt she often laughs at herself. She can be shy but that is mostly around females, believe it or not. She is not sure how a girl is SUPPOSED to act and is afraid that might she do the wrong thing she'll be talked about.
She would prefer to be outside then in, but she fears an angry father if she were to run home. She is most likely to bend the rules a bit to try and see what she can get away with. She dosen't like being 'under someone's thumb' and will most likely try to get them under her own control. She is extremely loyal but you would need to take time to get to know her, and maybe she'll save your life one day...
She often questions things, sometimes getting in trouble for it. She has a very curious mind and can have her smart moments. But being uneducated, she dosen't know much. Which is her whole point to her questioning.
Melody can sometimes be a scary person.
She knows she has power.
And if someone were to get on her nerves, she wouldn't be afraid to show them what she thought of them. She might abuse that power given to her if that little voice of her mother's wasn't in her head when things got far. She can be very sarcastic and often mocks people that are saying words of disdain to her.
Likes:
The outdoors
Music
Swimming {More like adores it}
Love
The ability to dream in sleep.
Dislikes:
Insects
Controlling and manipulative people
Teachers
People who are rather inactive.
Dreams:
That maybe one day she can be like Mother Sophie, but most likely that is an extremely long way off.
Fears:
Bunnies
Walls/enclosed spaces
Being stuck in one place.

I've been around for a long, long year...
History: When Melody was born, her mother and father were not married. Nor did they even remember each other much. Her father was from a middle class family, her mother from the gypsies and a Wicca at that. And how he ended getting with a gypsy is rather a mystery. Melody loved Mother Sophie's stories with all her heart ever since she was small. She would always listen, even when she might have already heard the story.
And she loved her mother as much, too. Rin Darksong had been showing her small tricks to amuse her all the time. Her mother was the one who taught her in the ways of Wicca, being one herself. He mother was always scared, though. And she never reached the potential she might have. Rin was afraid of hurting someone. That was one of the things that seperated her her from her daughter. Melody had no problem hurting someone if she thought they deserved it. Her mother would never hurt a fly.
Let's move to the less happy encounters with Melody's father, shall we?
Her father branded her with the pentagram when she tried to see him at the age of seven. Because of her eyes and since he was a superstitious man, he thought her to be a witch. And branded her accordingly. When she went home, her mother was in rage and kept her from leaving the camp. But that would take a lot more to keep her from doing her usual mischief. She still sneaked out to swim in the lake, still stole roses, and still did the occasional visit to the Magic Shop. The Magic Shop trips were rare, but she still made them. When she turned fifteen, he mother had gotten dreadfully sick. And with Mother Sophie deteriorating as well, she soon passed away. And so she fell into the care of her father, who sent her to the school as soon as possible. He wanted nothing to do with her and him having a current wife and two children, didn't want he to 'contaminate' his house. And so, she is soon arriving late to the Academy. Her mother would be most displeased with this, so that's her reason for trouble making. She has stuck herself to the club of the Rebels, where she is trying to make friends in the position of a Priestess.
A first experience;
I'm going to role play it because I am killing myself trying to say this with out being dorkish.
Melody's first experience of magic was rather quiet. In the figurative term. It happened slowly and over time. She was fourteen.
She had one day been running around the village, occasionally pick pocketing. When she saw the Magic Shop. It caught her attention almost immediately.
Upon entering, she found herself gazing around the shop in a trance. The looks from the shop keeper glared at her in a way that meant it was evident that she wouldn't be able to buy anything. She sighed, and ducked behind a shelf. A rather interesting book on magicks was in front of her, among various jars of liquid. Melody plucked the book from the shelf, flipping through the pages. At one moment the young woman thought she felt it shake, but shrugged it off. Melody brought the book to the shop keeper and he had said in a clipped tone, 'No.' before she even asked for the book.
After useless haggling, she left the store.
~*~
A few days later, when Melody visited the Great Oak tree, she had found a cover of a book. The cover of the book from the Magic Shop, actually. Puzzled, the gypsy took the abandoned book cover home.
~*~
Every week, a page would appear in the book on it's own. There were three hundred pages in the original book. And so far, she had two hundred ninety nine. She is yet to get the last page. It was the page she would have to find on her own.
~
Melody received her magick through her mother. As an inherited gene you might say. She is stronger then her mother in magicks though because he mother was scared of it, while her over eager daughter embraced it. A bit too tightly.
Family:
Rin Darksong;Mother
Orson Robinson; Father
Erica Robinson; Half sister
Johnathan Robinson; Half Brother
Sasha Robinson; Stepmother
Anything you'd like to add?
Melody reads the last page of a book before actually reading it, as so keep her interest going.
Upon the day that she arrived to Orson's house, Erica {Nine years} actually followed her around like a puppy. She was glad to have a sister around and ignored the fact she was only a half sister. Johnathan {Twelve} was quite the little brat and often mocked her, calling her 'gyp' and telling her she wasn't part of the family.
What mostly got on her nerves was the occasional toad, worms, and spiders in the bed.
Melody never had a problem with her nails as chewing on them were concerned. She actually grew them a bit long and would use them for self defense, because they were thin and broke skin.
She was born on the Twenty First of May, which was considered a summer solstice in history. It puts her under the sign of the Gemini, making her also an Air sign.
