Name: Ara Elizabeth Macarthur
Age:Seventeen
Gender:Female

Clique Status: The Best Friend

Play by: Laura Ramsey
Appearance: At first glance one would see a blur of blond hair and a flash of piercing blue eyes, but that’s only the beginning. If one were to take the time to stop and observe this pretty young lady they would see the light freckles that dot the bridge of her nose, the darker roots of her hair, and the figure well worked for. Ara takes quite a lot of pride in her appearance and works hard for it. Thankfully she was blessed with clear skin and if one blemish would appear she is sure she would simply die. Standing at a strong 5’6”, one of Ara’s faults in appearance is that if she were standing by her mother every comment would be; “Why, Marie, she looks just like you!” And gawk at how much she resembles her mother. Even as she grows older the resemblances never seem to end and all she can do is stand there and flash those pearly whites.
Personality: Ara is one of those kind of care-free, ‘danger is apart of my life’ kind of people. Taking risks isn’t a dilemma for her and it isn’t unknown for her to break the rules. Though, her lady like nature keeps this all on the down low, the students the only ones who can suspect. Her mood is generally happy and full of life, very much living for the moment. Although, getting on her bad side wouldn’t be such a bright idea. It’s not uncommon for her to hold grudges and she has her moments where she can get livid, very livid. As for love, she has a tendency to have a weak spot for the opposite gender and more than once has had her heart broken. Ara can be a hard cookie to crack, but once she trusts you, you’re in.
History: March 1st, a typical evening for most, but not for the Macarthur family for on this night they had a new addition to the family; Miss Ara Elizabeth. They had plans for their new daughter, plans of a bright future and happy marriage (even if they had to find one for her themselves). Ara didn’t grow up in poverty, nor was she raised in royalty. Her family was well known and respected. With this came responsibility to raise their daughter right. Ara could sip tea and sit up straight before she was out of diapers.
Then came the heart wrenching decision for the Macarthur’s, they had to send their precious daughter off to Florence’s Academy for the Young. Ara wasn’t sure if she should be happy for this, seeing as it was a blessing to get away from her over controlling mother, or a burden. She was after all, being sent away to learn to be a lady and wouldn’t get a taste of the free world until she was eighteen. But what did her opinion matter? She was already on the train before she could speak another word.
At first, friends were not easy to find. Ara was just as a free spirit then as she is now. Girls, even at ten, found her to be childish and found her behavior rude. Then enter, Cicily Jaden Stone. The girl was a gift from the heavens and when they had more in common than what met the eyes, well best friends didn’t even seem like a fitting title.
Now, fast forward seven years later and her season approaching faster and faster, Ara is worried about what her mother has in store for her. And even though she won’t admit it, this rebel is scared. Scared that her mother won’t realize the way her daughter looks at the world, scared that as soon as she leaves Florence her life will be turned up side down, and afraid of loosing her dear friends. Her mother is determined to have the best life for Ara, but Ara fears that her mother might take it too far with an arranged marriage. Something that she cringed at, even as a five year old. So now, Ara is stuck with her feelings alone, worried of what her mother has in store for her.
