Appearance:
The first thing people notice about Adrian Keith is how unusually thin he is for his height. Standing at around six-foot-one, he possesses a slightly unhealthy-looking thin figure, though if you saw him at lunchtime, you would know he had anything but an eating disorder.
Adrian’s hair is a natural dark brown shade, contrasting with pale white skin he inherited from his mother’s Swedish descent. His eyes are brown and not too small, not too large, and not too far apart. His face is rather square shaped and his jaw line neatly defined.
When Adrian speaks his voice is clearly British, though it has an underlying—and almost nonexistent—tone of American. His voice is clear, fluid, and about average in depth, but always has a sort of unhappy or uninterested form to it—as does his posture.
Personality:
Adrian’s the kind of person who would rather not get involved in anything that didn’t require his involvement. He’s not fond of drama or disagreements of any sort, and if anyone tries to start an argument with him, he’d shrug it off, saying it isn’t worth the effort. The only exception to this is if something clearly intrigues him, though it’s hard to say exactly what that something is. A lot of times it will be random, changing from day to day and perhaps from mood to mood. If something interested him one day, it might be completely boring the next, and vice versa.
Adrian is very rational and practical when it comes to making decisions for himself or for others. Most of the time there is no inner controversial dilemma—he knows what he wants and he knows what’s best, almost as if it’s instinct. Never bet against him, because most likely you’ll lose.
Adrian has never had an intimate or romantic relationship with anyone, and he isn’t specifically looking for one. He goes where life takes him, and if life gives him someone to fall in love with, he will—but it’s not like he’d seek it intentionally. He doesn’t have many close friends, since most of the people he knows he’s deemed “uninteresting.” Despite this, if someone needed some sort of assistance, he’d always be there to help—I mean, it’s not like he could just shut the door on the face of a dying man (or someone who needed help in algebra).
History:
Adrian Keith was born on April 8th at Newham General Hospital in the town of Stratford, England. His mother, Birgit Eide, was a Swedish peace activist. The blonde beauty had met Richard Keith, also a peace activist, at a peace rally in London when both of them were only twenty-four, and after traveling for three years around the world together, they returned to England to be married and bear a son.
When Adrian was only four years old, violence broke out at a rally he attended with his parents. In the end, someone pulled a gun and his mother was shot by chance. Young, scared, and confused, he had trouble accepting what had really happened until years later.
Quickly he and his father moved to Scotland, to get away from all the hardships. His father co-founded what is now a major publishing company with a friend and struck it rich in the business industry, making their small family of two well off for the rest of their lives.
As his father’s business grew, Adrian saw less and less of him. His father would explain that it was for the good of their family, in order to live happy and prosperous lives. But Adrian didn’t care for money or for success; his real goal was just to achieve happiness for himself, something he hadn’t felt since he was four years old.
When he was nine he his father took Adrian on business with him. Adrian wandered into the hotel lobby, where he lingered as he listened to a man play the piano. For the two short weeks they stayed, Adrian spend day—and sometimes night—learning to play from the kind gentleman, and before he knew it, he could play the piano like a professional.
When Adrian was fourteen he was sent to Florence's School for the Young to learn to be a proper gentlemen. Of course, Adrian wanted anything but to be stuck with the label of 'proper'...
Fears:
death, decay, injury, losing any of his senses, helplessness
Likes:
simplicity, organization, fresh air, piano, the color blue, the color black, lasagna, long hair
Dislikes:
socializing, chocolate, talkative people, liars, activists, shorts, shaving
Dreams:
to accomplish his ultimate goal of happiness
