Both of the Macarthur children exchanged looks to one another as they approached the two best friends. Ara watched Aaron, noting the small stiffness of her brother’s jaw. Sighing, she nudged him slightly to get him to lighten up. She had gone to school with these boys since she was ten. Aaron was going to have to accept that she did indeed talk to them. Aaron just glanced at her from the corner of his eyes, not relaxing anymore like Ara had hoped he would have.
Aaron reached out, grasping his hand firmly and shaking it. “I’m Aaron, your fiancé’s older brother.” His grip tightened slightly before he released Dorian’s hand, his gaze steely. Ara sighed, muttering something about him needing to stop being so protective of her like that. She felt his gaze on her and she chuckled slightly; well at least he was listening.
Ara nodded at Dorian, smiling slightly. “If you say so.” She paused watching him walk off. “Have fun.” She called after him, now leaving Aaron, herself, and Dante. Aaron, Ara could tell, had already given Dante the once over trying to figure out whether he liked the lad or not. Keeping a sigh in she turned to Dante, slightly surprised he had addressed her and not Aaron.
“I’ve hidden him away for all these years. I just pull him out of the box I keep him in for show.” She teased slightly. Aaron let out a scoff before standing up a bit straighter.
“Mom’s calling me.” He shot Dante a look before looking back at Ara, “Don’t do anything stupid when I’m gone.” And he was weaving his way back into the tent where Mrs. Macarthur waited for her son to come. Switching back to Dante, Ara sighed and ran a hand through her hair.
“I’m sorry about him; he really doesn’t have manners when it comes to boys my age.” She laughed softly, looking up at Dante. Her eyes grazed over his body before landing on his face and smiling. “It is nice, indeed. We really only had that one dance to really talk. Even that was cut short to some unfortunate incidents.” Her smile was slightly sad.
Dante had been a wonderful dancer, and she had learned a lot from the small dance that they had had. It wasn’t everyday that you got to talk to the leader of a very powerful clique. It was interesting to sort of explore his mind a bit.
“Of course, it would be rather lovely.” She looked out towards the grounds and the people scattered throughout the green grass. “Would you like to go on a walk? I understand if you have to get back to your family.” She smiled, taking a tiny step towards him, possibly making the invitation more welcoming to him. “We could talk about the weather or the Headmistress, or we could skip the small talk and cut right into personal business. Like, what’s your favorite color and where’s your favorite place to think?” Ara smiled widely, taking another small step towards him.
She waved a hand at the added ‘miss’ to her name. “Please, Dante. Just call me Ara. I think we’ve known each other long enough not to be so formal with one another.” She wanted to be comfortable with him, she didn’t want him to try and be that perfect gentleman. It was nice, but truly unnecessary.
After all, how else would they be able to get to know each other better if they were stuck at manners?

After listening to 'Aaron's' introduction, Dante watched as he ran off just like that. Snorting on the inside, his mind was then lifted as he heard that girl's voice. Oh, that girl's voice was like an angel's voice. Trying not to be too corny or caught up, the ebony-haired boy quickly replied.
"Oh no, it's fine really. I'm very used to it with my cousins, so I understand completely."
He chuckled, and then waited as he heard her talk yet again. That dance was nice, and he still wasn't sure what had gone on with that Cicily girl and...ugh, him. Phillip Looring. Dante hated that guy, well, afterall, Phillip was the leader of the Elites who were unspokenly the enemies of the Handsome eyes, which Dante was the leader of. It just didn't mix, the two most powerful cliques in the school? Not really.
"I would just love to go on a walk." He heard the rest of her converstation and laughed. Family? Why would he ever want to run back to them? He hated his family. Especially his damned good-for-nothing failure brother. How he hated him so much after he...well...That's another story. Trying to get back to his once in a life-time moment of peace, he forced a smile.
"No, I don't think I'll be getting back to them in a while. They can do fine without me. But uh, that walk sounded nice."
No formalities? That would be nice. It seemed to be one step closer to her, and Dante wanted to get as close as he could. Ara was giving him every opportunity, so it was obvious maybe she wanted to know him as much as he wanted to know her.
"Well, my favorite color is black and my favorite place to think is my room. What about you.." He paused. "Ara?"

Ara watched her brother as he made his way back towards her family. His gaze remained on the two and she was half tempted to give him a wave or blow him a kiss. Before opportunity knocked though, her mother dragged him in further, introducing him to some old friends of theirs with a rather beautiful daughter. That ought to keep him occupied She thought, turning back to Dante with her full attention.
She nodded at his comment, glad he was fine with an over bearing older brother. Well, at least she hoped so. Aaron had never really understood that she could take care of herself, especially when it came to boys. They were close, surprisingly, but there was still a lot about Ara that Aaron would never be able to understand.
Ara smiled, laughing at the memory of the ball. It had been marvelous, just the dressing up itself was enough to laugh about. Of course, a night could never be complete without a disaster. She tried to not allow any anger to slip onto her expression, but there was only so much she could keep hidden. It really hadn’t been Cicily’s fault that the magic had slipped to Phillip. What angered her most was that Phillip hadn’t even seemed to be upset by the fact that he had practically stolen it from the Pulchritude and caused quite a problem.
Sighing, she returned her attention to Dante, and prayed that he hadn’t seen the slight stiffness on the topic. Ara laughed with his and found herself looping her hand around his arm and heading in the direction of the gardens themselves.
“I’m sure they’ll be able to manage. Hopefully they won’t hate me for stealing you away for a few minutes.” She looked over at him slightly beaming, and laughed. She really didn’t want to be a bother for any of the Yerami family, or Dante for that matter. Honestly, if he didn’t want to take a walk it was perfectly fine with her. Ara grinned though as he once again agreed to the go.
It was wonderful to be this close to another leader of another clique. Ara’s circle of friends mostly involved the Elite, the Unloved, and a few others. It was a rarity, almost bazaar that Dante wanted to go on walk with none other then the best friend of a hated and not trusted group of girls.
She listened to him closely, nodding with his answers. “I personally like the color red and blue. And I simply adore sitting under a tree by the lake. It takes me away from the world, but not quite all the way.” Ara smiled as he simply addressed her by her name and slowed down their pace. “You told me once that there’s more to the Handsome Eyes then what meets the eye…care to elaborate?”
ooc: It's horrible, i'm sorry. -.-

AN: (I can't do black anymore because of this damn layout. D:)

The student smiled as he felt the other's arm find itself around his, and he tightened the grip, assuring it. As they strolled, he quickly responded to her questions, finding her a very interesting conversationalist compared to the other girls he had met.
"Just between you and me, I find it rather nice to get away from my family once and a while, that's what so nice about this school."
He wanted to add on, especially my annoying failure of a brother... but realized it to be inappropriate for such a response. Only Dorian he could tell these things to. But, that brunette had pissed him off to a high extent, and didn't know when he would be back on speaking terms. Maybe his friend would finally apologize for his rude behavior, but knowing Dorian, it would take a while.
Turning his attention back to the lovely lady, he gave a charming smile that usually send girls gasping for air. Listening fully to her responses, he chuckled.
"Red and blue, eh? Those, also personally, are my second favorite colors. And trees are always a nice play to relax next to, maybe pick up a book, and get lost in thought."
He sighed to add emphasis, but then perked up when he felt them slowly down their pace. Looking back at her, he raised an eyebrow but then heard what she said. Smiling mischievously, he closed his eyes and then opened them again, staring at the path before them.
"We're all seen as the top students who step over people just to get what we want, and although that may be true, not all of us are really like that. Handsome Eyes merely act like what everyone thinks a Handsome Eyes should act, whether it be cruel or not. The difference with me, is that," he paused, knowing that this might just affect the way she thought about him. "although I am slightly cruel on the inside... I will at least try my best to please the people around me, as I don't want to hurt anyone. Especially those I favor."
Well, part of that was lie, as he did love to hurt people, but most of what he said was true. This was a bit different from his usual conversations, as he never told girls or people he wanted to respect him that he was cruel on the inside, but it seemed that Dante had already let it slip at the ball. And, as it appeared to be, she was still here talking with him afterwords, now wasn't she?
Trying to change the subject, his dark eyes flickered to her light ones, and then he spoke.
"But what about the Unloved -- or the Pulchritude as it's supposed to be --, what about them? They seem mysterious, like their always trying to hide something..."
