Flick went her hand. Her creamy tan, slender hand. Waving her baton in the air, going either up or down, depending on the notes. With a dazzling smile, she tried exaggerating her movements in order to lighten up the girl's moods, and bring more excitement into the song. Oh song, this was her life. Surrounding by beautiful voices all harmonizing perfectly, well almost, she was in bliss. Ah, but then it came. A mistake. Well, as this was a class there were always to be mistakes made. Smiling, she moved her left hand to the left and baton to the right rapidly, signaling a stop in singing. Some stopped suddenly, other just slowed down over a period of seconds.
Walking out from behind her music stand, Catalina stood in front of her students, looking them all in the eye.
"Alright girls, I am seeing that this is where you are making mistake. You see, most of you are hitting an F flat at 'bueno', while you are supposed to be hitting just a regular F. Also, you altos are prolonging the word 'tengo'. It is just a staccato note, so hit it rapidly. Alright, let us try again."
So she was teaching them a Spanish song, so what? It was nice to hear some words from her home country. Just about anyone can get home sick. Also, to her at least, Spanish was the most beautiful language in the world. So in singing, why wouldn't it make music better?

Katja hated singing lessons. Hated them with a burning passion. Because she couldn't sing at all, not even a little bit. She didn't understand why so many stutterers learnt to speak properly through singing; for her, it just meant having to move at somebody else's pace, and she stumbled even more than usual. In fact, he stutter extended to 't' sounds too when she sang, because she mixed them up with 'd's in her efforts to keep up.
She was only in singing lessons because her enunciation tutor back in Iceland had recommended it, and she had long ago given up on taking an active role. She just stood at the back and mouthed along vaguely; she'd got away with it so far.
Except that today that blonde ten-year-old ghost had been following her around saying she just wanted to sing once more, and could she please borrow the Misfit's body, please, please, please, pretty pretty please with a cherry on top, just once and then she'd go to Heaven, honest. Now, normally Katja was very obliging to ghosts requesting use of her body, even if it got her into trouble sometimes, but she really, really didn't want anyone to think she could sing. They might make her try again!
"Leave me alone!" she hissed at the pigtailed girl, who pouted at her, lip wobbling.
'Pleeeeeeease, Katja! Pretty pretty pretty please!'
Katja's distant grey eyes narrowed and she muttered irritably "No! Sin...sin...sing yourself! People will want me to sin...g more!" The girl next to her was looking at her oddly, but she didn't notice and wouldn't much care anyway.
'Pleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleasepleaseplease!'
"No!" Katja burst out loudly, clenching her fists. "Leave me alone! You won't force me to si...sin...sin...sing!"
Now even she couldn't miss the fact that she had yelled out in front of the whole classroom, and her pale cheeks flushed as most of the class turned to stare at her. The little girl ghost in the corner of her vision smirked in triumph and slid into her body before she had a chance to react.

Feeling that maybe her students needed to take a bit of a break, the Spanish chica tapped her baton abrubtly against the music stand, gaining attention. Dark eyes roaming the room making sure that everyone was paying attention, she put a hand on her hip and used the other to slightly fold back her wavy locks.
"Alright, we are going to take a five minute break--no more--and then do some vocal warm-ups again. Not to loud now, I don't want this room to be filled with nonsense."
Before she could find her way to her seat in order to relax, Catalina was interrupted by a girl's shrieking voice. Turning around, she saw the familiar petite face of that girl who always stuttered. Sighing, the brunette bit her lip in annoyance, and strolled over gracefully to the girl muttering under her breath "Fjalarsdottir...." as if she was saying 'oh not this again'.
Standing in front of the girl with her hands on her hips, Catalina raised an eyebrow.
"Well then, Miss Fjalarsdottir, what seems to be the problem here?"

Katja was struggling to get control of her own body again, to try and make the situation marginally less embarassing somehow, but all she could do was watch and cringe as the little girl used her mouth to say in a sweet, butter-wouldn't-melt, stutter-free voice, "I said I want to sing, Miss Vaquez. On my own. Can I? Can I please?" Katja's big, long-lashed eyes gave Catalina the same appealingly cute look that the girl had been giving Katja all damn day.
Outside her body, Katja flailed helplessly. 'No! Nononono! Don't do that! Please don't do that! Give me my body back! Give it back!'

Catalina blinked. And then she blinked again. Feeling a bit taken back at the sudden change of personality that sprouted from this girl, she cleared her throat a bit before returning her eyebrow back to its raised form.
"Why, I suppose you may Miss Fjalarsdottir, although it's break time." she smiled, placing a hand on her hip and leaning to the side a bit. "Let's see what you've got, muchacha bonita."
This definitely would be entertaining, after all, Katja hardly ever dared to sing or at least raise her voice to a normal octave. The teacher could understand though, with the stuttering problem, but the brunette had to try at some point.

With another angelic smile, the body of the Icelandic girl opened its mouth to sing. Katja watched, praying madly that the little ghost had an awful voice, so at least she wouldn't be asked to sing again, but no such luck. The wordless song coming from her mouth was beautiful and fluid. It was her voice, but controlled by somebody who really knew how to hit every note.
Damn.
The high notes were hit with an ease that Katja was pretty sure would leave her a horrible sore throat after that bloody ghost left her body, the whole thing coming together like a professional performance. And when the ghost finished, she quite simply left, flashing the teacher a smile before going. For a moment, Katja entertained the notion of just staying outside her body to avoid the humiliation, but her passing out would cause even more fuss, so she returned to her body swiftly. All the change that was visible from outside her body was the deep, scarlet blush rushing across her pale face
