Gin? Nyet. Viskey? Nyet. Beer? Nyet
Just what kind of school didn't have some good ol Russkyaa Wodka? Sapphire wondered to herself as she hurled various bottles from the liquor cabinet located in the kitchen. Most actually would wonder why there is a liquor cabinet in a school at all, but this is Victorian England, anything goes.
Standing up and dusting off the skirt of her dress, the girl put her hands on her hips and looked around accusatory like. As if the kitchen had something to do with the lack of Vodka. With a huff, she started searching through the cabinets overhead, hoping that maybe the blasted teacher had perhaps been trying to hide the good stuff for themselves.
So she desperately wanted Vodka, go sue her. In Moskva wodka was like water, so coming to this goddamned Angliski school was hell. Who didn't have Vodka, honestly? How did they expect her to survive?? And she hadn't yet learned how to summon objects, no her powers were far too undeveloped for that. At the best she could teleport, blow things up, and cast certain spells if she had the book with her.

There was a clink of glass as a dark figure pulled himself up through the window, dark eyes glimmering with mischief. It had taken time to get dirt worth having on the Russian girl, she kept so little secret. But oh, such a gem he and Zuriel had uncovered. And such a nice coincidence to hear her rummaging about, with the school so quiet.
Edward hadn't got where he was today by missing opportunities, or by lacking the skills to read a person's mind like a large-print book by their actions. The vodka bottle in his hand was clear and ice cold, condensation frosting the sides, dribbling in luscious tracks down the glass. This was the real stuff, smooth enough to slide down like a dream, strong enough to burn like a demon and floor an elephant.
Casually, he cracked open the top and knocked back a slug, pushing back the wave of dizziness with practised ease. "Evening, moy milyi."

Head turned to the side, her long chesnut locks swerving with it, Sapphire spotted the voice that had spoken to her. Eying the boy up and down while taking mental notes, she recognized him as that Edvard boy, the quiet and strangely interesting one. She gave a short grunt and turned her body to match her head.
"Vat you want malchik?"
But as her eyes lingered down to his hand, the girl noticed the bottle in his hand. The bottle... Suddenly the boy got much more interesting.
"You like Russkya Wodka, yes? You speak Russkya too. Hand bottle Sapphir."
There were no questions when it came to Sapphire. It was do this and do that, anything else was out of the question. She was not a patient woman, and she wanted what she wanted then and there. Usually, she seemed to get it. It was a wonder why.

"I speak lots of things," Edward replied evenly, pouring a capful of vodka for the monkey, who took it in both paws and ran to the top of the shelves, chittering happily as he lapped at it.
Edward took another pull at the vodka, standing up on the countertop and strutting over to lean his elbow on Zuriel's shelf. "Yes," he answered, smacking his lips and imitating Sapphire's distinctive accent. "I like Russkaya wodka, yes. So is no for Sapphir, unless she come take it."

Sapphire was not impressed. She could tell that this boy had a bravado to himself, he liked to hold power over others. But she was Sapphir, and nobody held anything over her. So with a flick of her wrist, she attempted to summon the bottle to her own hand. Alas, as previously stated, her powers were not yet fully developed so instead of appearing into her hand it dissipated in his with a slight explosion. Oh the mess.
Not caring that the glass shards might have injured the boy, a frown came to her face at the loss of her finally found vodka. Oh the disappointment, just where was she going to obtain it now? Ah.. but she could always just find out where he got it. Storming over to him, she grabbed him by the collar and stared into his eyes.
"Wodka. Vere you get it."

"From a drawer," Edward replied facetiously, in a sing-song tone. There was blood in his palm, and the spilled vodka stung like buggery in the fresh wounds. Ignoring her hands at his unshaven throat, he licked blood and vodka off his oozing hand, catlike. "Hmm, that's very good vodka. What a shame. I suppose I shan't be able to share it now. Isn't that right, old friend?"
From his perch high up, Zuriel chattered his assent, and carelessly tossed the empty vodka cap at Sapphire's head before turning away, bored, to rummage through the pots of dried fruit the cook kept up there.

She rolled her eyes. This boy was getting on her nerves, and had done so long enough. Most people wouldn't be standing at this point, he must be a lucky one. Or she just really, really did find him interesting. Hm.
"Which drawer, malchik?"
Then Sapphire felt a slight tick at her head and turned to see the monkey. She raised an eyebrow, having a fondness for animals but certainly not when they annoyed her. Whatever, it was trivial to be upset by an animal. She turned back around.
"Tell Sapphir where wodka or monkey boom."
It was a bluff, but if he didn't believe it, she could make it seem like the monkey exploded at the very least.

Edward laughed, dark eyes bright and cold. "You're going to explode him? With these arcane powers of yours? I'm sure that kind of behaviour could get you into trouble."
Zuriel looked up, chittered again and began casually flicking raisins into Sapphire's dark hair.
Edward's expression became a mocking parody of fear. "No, no, not my poor innocent Zuriel. He wouldn't hurt a fly. You monster. You monster," he deadpanned. "I'll tell you. I'll show you to the vodka. Just let me go."

She lifted a chin, not at all bothered by his insistent yapping. Unlike most stupid girls she was sure of herself, yes she was. Maybe a little too sure of herself, but that's why she had such a big narcisstic ego.
"Yes, Sapphir will. Trouble? Hah. Laugh at trouble."
The Russian might have been dense but she wasn't stupid, she could pick up a mocking tone when she needed to. But playing along wouldn't hurt.
"Tell now. No show."
Men. They were so much work. Here in Angliski and back in Russkya. All the same, really, in the end. It was a wonder why they were in power and not women. Well, one day she was sure to change that for the better.

"So no vodka," Edward replied calmly, unperturbed. It wasn't in his nature to feel threatened by something so simple as violence and threats, although he was spindly and weak, because threats and intimidation were his domain. He owned them, and they would not be turned against him.
Up on the shelf, Zuriel had graduated from raisins, and was working at the top of a large jar of soggy bottled prunes. They'd make quite a splat if they hit her.
