Did You... Sail Across The Sun...? Toni smiled, listening to the words that tumbled out of her mouth, and he reached up to stroke the side of her face, his fingers icy and cold against her warm skin. He smiled, his skin crinkling up around the sides of his eyes. "I'm so glad you're such a fast learner, my dear," he whispered, his fingers continuing to run down her face, never going farther than her jaw, not daring to touch her neck. He wasn't sure what Bryce would ever do to him if he did hurt her... Especially on this deal... he was already walking a fine line. But there was no sense in letting such a pretty face, such soft skin... go to waste. "I didn't want to have to hurt Bryce here." And like that, he had moved, like smoke, to Bryce, his body literally twisting around his like a snake, his head resting next to his. He smiled slightly, coldly. His fingers were suddenly daggers, at Bryce's throat, and he looked at Lillian. "And don't think I'll ever forget about this... deal. Because as soon as one word slips from your lips, I'll kill him- and I know that he's the thing that matters most to you in this world."
While Toni curled around him, Bryce said nothing, he shuddered slightly at the grown man's touch, but wasn't able to speak or move. He started straight ahead, silently studying the hairs on the top of Lillian's head, as if those were fascinating. He pretended he did not feel the daggers on his throat or hear Lillian promise she'd never say a word about what happened last night. He pretended he didn't see Toni stroke her face, but a knot of sickness did twist in his stomach. All he wanted to do was wrap his arms around her for the last time and send her home where she'd be safe, without the threat of being exposed. If she forgot about him, then... Toni's threat would be completely empty. She would have nothing to fear. But he doubted he could convince her to think that way. Not after last night...
Uncurling from around Bryce, Toni slunk back over to Lillian, studying her face silently. Content that she would hold up to her promise, he looked at Bryce. "Same goes for you, Gypsy Boy. I'll kill her in a second. And then I'll wreck havoc on your little caravan there." He waved his hand behind Bryce, smirking, imagining all the damage he could do. He sighed, brushing his dark hair out of his eyes. "I'll be seeing you in class very soon, Miss Macaurthor, and I do hope that you aren't late." With that Toni Wilkes disappeared, the spell on the two of them breaking its hold.
Bryce fell to his knees against the strain, and he slowly staggered back up, looking at Lillian, who looked like she was about to break down. With a heavy sigh, he pulled her into his arms, cursing Toni Wilkes to internal damnation, though he was sure the man already had a spot reserved, a home already picked out in the place of flames. "I'm so, so sorry Lillian," he whispered, not daring to tell her that he had anything to do with it. The sky was suddenly beginning to brighten, to burn the fog off of the ground, the world more peaceful now that Toni Wilkes had disappeared.

Everything about that moment was wrong. His cool hands across her face made her stiff, and she could almost feel the blood beneath his hand freezing. The tension in her limbs was raw and hurt and the world outside of the woods seemed like this distant place from where they were now. His words were pins in her skin, just his voice haunted her enough. Things weren’t meant to be like this, they were supposed to be safe. Lillian swallowed hard as he continued, her mouth drying out from fear. When Toni Wilkes moved from her, she jumped, and her head turned to look back. The first thing she saw was the shiny reflection of the blades against the morning sun and she felt her whole body go cold. Fear was the emotion pleading in her eyes and she wanted to cry out and stop this, push Toni Wilkes away from Bryce, and wake up from this nightmare. ”I won’t say anything, and I understand your threat.”
As Toni moved around Bryce, Lillian studied his face. She was amazed, in that moment, how truly strong and brave he was. He didn’t allow any of this to affect him, to work past the façade. Turning to face the front again, Lillian waited patiently for Toni to continue on his way. They had no chose, they would have to listen to Toni Wilkes or the other would be killed. There wasn’t even a simple answer to this, even if they parted ways to save each other the threat would still be there, still apart of their lives. And it wasn’t as if Lillian could just forget Bryce and send him to his death. They were in this together and there was no going back now.
She remained still when Toni was studying her, her face empty of emotion even though a single tear slid down her cheek. Lillian was afraid to move and afraid to look at Toni the wrong way, even though she could fight back herself. There was a slight coolness to the way he threatened Bryce with her and her hands twitched only slightly as if she wanted to reach out and show him just how mad he was making her. Setting her jaw tightly, Lillian breathed out slowly. ”I’ll be a minute early.” She managed out before he disappeared.
Stumbling forward, Lillian sucked in a deep breath and looked at the open air where Toni Wilkes was. The whole world seemed to change when Toni left, as if it knew what monster he was. The anger in her was building up as Bryce pulled her into his arms, but it was too late for comfort. Breaking from him slowly, she turned and landed a solid punch against a tree as she bellowed out some sort of scream. ”I HATE HIM!” she yelled as she landed another punch and a kick. Red blood slowly oozed from her hand as she cut herself against the bark. Angry tears fell down her face and she half heartedly hit the tree again, the sting from the bleeding finally kicking in.
”It’s not supposed to be like this!” Lillian turned back to Bryce, her eyes wide and hurt. She didn’t know what she wanted, what she needed. She was just this vulnerable young lady suddenly, lost in the world she could do nothing in. For once, Lillian felt helpless. Guilt was a tight knot in her stomach and looked at Bryce sadly. If only she hadn’t come out to see him, if only she hadn’t kissed him, if only she had been more careful then maybe his life wouldn’t be on the line like this. ”This is all my fault.” she said defeatidly. ”if I hadn’t…” Shaking her head, she stopped before she finished the thought. Walking over she took his face softly in her hands and pressed her lips tentatively to his for a moment before she slowly pulled back. ”I’m sorry.”

Did You... Sail Across The Sun...? Frozen in fear. That was the way to best describe Bryce's reaction, even after Toni Wilkes disappeared, at least until he wrapped his arms around Lillian, hoping that they could avoid a reaction like this... He did not need her freaking out over something so simple. So they forget about what happened, if that is what had to happen to keep them both safe and alive, then so be it. Still, he let her break away when she did, and he watched with pain in his eyes as she began to hit the tree. "Lillian," he said sternly, wincing at her scream. "Lillian, listen to me." The male gypsy stepped forward, reaching to grab her wrists before she could hit the tree again. It wasn't worth it. It wasn't worth her blood. Her pain. He brought her wrists together, staring at her hard, holding her hands in one of his. "Lillian. This is how he wants you to react, do you hear me? You need to calm down."
Was asking her to calm down the equivalent to asking a cat to swim? To asking a fish to breathe air? He didn't know, he honestly didn't care. He just needed her to think. Just needed her to understand that they were at least getting away from them with their lives, with everything still in tact. They hadn't died... Not yet, anyway. And if both of them upheld their promise (though Bryce had to silently agree, feeling Toni probe his mind for the answer) then nothing would happen. It was easy. Simple. Crystal clear. He gently rested his free hand on her cheek, stroking the skin beneath her eye, gently shushing her. If only he could make her see how lucky they were to both have their heads, or at the very least, their thoughts.
He watched as her eyes widened, and he wished he could pull her against him, but he wasn't sure if now was the best time. So he kept her gaze locked to hers, sighing slightly, starting to hum, wishing she'd calm down, and give in, just this once. At least to keep herself alive. Pushing his hand through his hair he wearily let go of her wrists, listening to her stutter out beginnings to multiple thoughts, and he shook his head, sighing angrily now. "Stop it," he hissed. "This isn't your fault." When she still wouldn't fall silent, he grabbed her hand again, but she was already doing what he was trying to do, fulfilling an unspoken command, silently answering to his silent request. When her lips touched his... he locked one hand in her hair, the other at her back, pressing her against him.
Passion was pushed into the force behind the kiss. So much passion. His lips were hot and angry on top of hers, his fingers entangling themselves in her hair, wishing that she'd just give herself to him, but at the same time wishing that last night had never happened, that she'd stayed up in the school all night. His head tilted (changing up the kiss, as Dane Cook would say... xD) to the side, and he kept her close, his blue eyes closed against the sun and the now singing birds. He just couldn't let her say it. Finally he pulled away, looking down at her, hoping she wasn't too mad at him for that. His eyes were slightly glazed as he blinked, swallowing. But still, she said that stupid word anyway. Sorry.
No, you are not," he whispered, still keeping her close to him, as close as she'd let him, of course. "You'll listen to him, you'll keep yourself safe, but you will never be sorry for what we did last night. You swear that to me, Lillian. Never be sorry for loving me, even if it was for a night, for a moment." He smiled slightly, brushing hair out of her eyes. "And even if you are sorry, I cannot accept you apology, since there was nothing to apologize for."
