Peering behind a worn old bookcase located far beyond in the depths of the forest of books, a small boy was hidden in the shadows -or so he thought- from the silent readers in the very room. Crouching on all fours like the wild animal he was, Miles poked his small head out from behind the shelf, and then back again. Seeing that no one had noticed him, he giggled slightly, but silently. This was a very fun game of his when he found a way to sneak away from that doctor of his.
Feeling bored, the Filipino decided to change the 'fun' game up a bit and tucked himself into a little ball. Noting the time was right, he rolled into the open space area where the students and teachers alike could sit down and read. What he did not put into mind was that he collided with a small table -one of which was occupied already by two students- and made everyone's attention turn to his.
Uncurling himself, Miles whined as he rubbed his sore and lump-forming head. But no, he could not fall out of character, so he sucked in his breath and tried to flow the determination straight into him. Jumping up on two legs, the boy put two hands up as well and tried forming them into claws, snarling like an animal. He twisted his face into an angry expression, possibly frightening or cute whichever way you looked at it, and roared as loudly as he could muster.
"RAWR! I am a ferocious tiger and I shall eat you all!"
Yes, this was bound to frighten the ongoing spectators, or so he hoped. Placing himself back on all fours, he ran around the room stopping to claw at random people who got in his way. This sure was a fun game, although even he hadn't quite figured out what he was doing. Things like this usually flowed to him, came and went, whatever it was that he felt like.
"IM GOING TO EAT YOU ALL!"

[OOC: It's okay. I love it. Sometimes short posts are the best way to describe things.]
There were some days when Anya could just not sit still. Today was one of those days.
She was supposed to be reading ‘The Island of The Blue Dolphins’ for class, but she had long since lost interest in the book. It was boring anyway. She thought it would be fun to read, because it was about dolphins, but it was actually about a girl who got left behind on a deserted island. Perhaps she should’ve thought about the saying ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ when she picked it up.
The small blonde girl kicked her feet as she sat at her table, daydreaming as she looked out a window. Maybe she’d go out to the garden later for some fresh air. She sighed and stood up, picking up her book and her stuffed animal. She always had a stuffed animal with her. Today it happened to be a lion, which looked like he was ready to be put out of his misery. Most of his mane was gone, and his tail was battered. Anya never kept her animals in top condition, but she loved them all, no matter how tore up she made them. Her lion was cleverly named Augustine, mostly because Leo was the astrological sign for August. She held him in the crook of her arm as she picked up her book, yawning out loud before she spotted a movement in the corner of her eye. She turned and watched as she say a small boy roll out of where she saw the movement, before colliding with a table.
Anya laughed and watched him as he scared two other girls out of their wits, raising his arms above his head and growling. He then proceeded to run about the room and scratch at people. Anya’s imagination started to run away, and, by the time he got to her, she was a lion tamer in the Cirque de Mer, and he was her tiger who happened to be causing a quite lot of trouble.
She stood with her hands on her hips, her lion looking out at the small boy. Even though she was only four feet tall, she seemed bigger. Her stance seemed to command attention as she held up her palm as a stop symbol. “No! Bad tiger! SIT! The ringmaster commands you to sit!” She said, pointing at the floor as she stared at him seriously. The corner of her lips twisted and she broke out into a grin. She was happy. Most times, her imagination wasn’t put to very good use outside of her dorm. She mostly had to pretend with teddy bears. She had never tried out her imagination on real people before.

As the wild boy pranced around being what he thought he actually was, some sort of creature, he was frankly surprised when a small girl -no younger or the same age as he- barged her way in front of him and commanded him. Ah, so this must be his master! Responding to her demands, he whimpered slightly before bending his legs and taking an almost bow like position. Expectant eyes roamed over her, inspecting her everywhere. His master had silk-like yellow hair, with fiery blue eyes filled with determination. He rather liked his master, she seemed very in control and knew what she was doing.
Wanting to please her, he let out a mewl and nuzzled her legs, asking for acceptance. As he did this, he wondered what things his master would teach him now. Tricks perhaps? She did say he was a lion, so that must be what the boy was. Miles smiled, he liked Lions. They were the kings of the jungle! A fierce and noble species. He was happy to be such a creature. But now it came to him, what tricks did lions learn?
Once before, in a book that Taki had read to him in order to get him finally to sleep, there had been a magical place called a 'circus'. In this circus many a folk performed various acts of wonder. Some walked a rope elevated very high above the ground called a 'high wire', and some juggled different silverware and cup-ware with ease. Then there was a lion and the lion tamer. That man wore a long cape that showed his grace and skill, and held a black whip in his right hand. The man then did something very shocking--he placed his own head in the lion's mouth! But just as it is, the lion did not bite down! No, the man was magical, he had befriended the wonderful creature in all it's magnificence.
Unfortunately, this made Miles more awake than before, since he wanted nothing more to travel to this renowned 'circus' and meet that amazing duo. But now the boy had his wish, he was the lion. And this girl was his tamer.

Anya was always reading and using her imagination. This wasn’t the first time she had been a ringmaster before. But, unlike Miles, she didn’t read about a circus from a book, she actually went. She saw the lions and tigers and bears (oh my!) and the tightrope walkers. She saw the clowns and horses and elephants. She had seen a man breath fire and a family of acrobats and many other things that Miles only wished he could imagine. This only fueled her imagination, of course. A child with an imagination like hers had no boundaries.
Even now, she giggled as he rubbed up against her legs. She heard some girls gasp and begin whispering behind their hands. ‘How scandalous~!’, they said. Wasn’t she a Pretty Face? Pretty Faces certainly didn’t behave that way. Oh, they’d run to Celeste and tell her all about it and she’d get scolded later, for sure. Maybe she would even be kicked out. But right now, Anastasia was busy patting the top of her lion’s head. She sat down with him, pulling her knees up to her chest. As fast as her imagination worked, it collapsed just as quick. One moment, it was in full gear, the next, it was gone. She smiled at him and held her lion. She stared at him for a long while, looking him over.
He was a boy, all right. That was for sure. He was Asian too. He had the narrow eyes and the skin that everyone called yellow but wasn’t really yellow. His eyes were a black sort of color, and they sort of frightened her, but drew her in as well. His pupils didn’t look right. She liked it. He had short black hair, like a crow’s feather. He was very thin, and he looked a little pale too. But he was short. He was taller than her, because everyone was taller than her, but still short.
Anya tilted her head to the side before smiling brightly at him, her blue eyes crinkling around the edges as she grinned. Her pearly teeth came out from behind her pink lips as she did. She liked this boy. He was nice and he wasn’t mean, at least not yet. He looked very huggable. “My name’s Anastasia. You can call me Anya. What’s your name?”

He was ready, his body was tensed and ready to spring once his master spoke the commands that bound him. But, the lion was surprised when his tamer changed appearance and crouched down to him. He blinked. He blinked again, and tilted his head to the side as she did. And then she was speaking words. Were they commands? He listened in, but found it to be none of the sort. No, she was asking his name!
Now he remembered, he wasn't a lion, he was a human boy! How silly of him to forget. Smiling brightly he moved closer to her, curious for the first time of who this person was. She was a young girl, probably around his age if not younger. He noted that she was very pretty, and Miles was rather found of pretty things and people. They were sure to get along. So now was the time for the boy to introduce himself to his guest.
"Helloooooo~" he managed to stretch the word out as possibly as he could, to make a good impression of course, "my name is MILES! 'Nice to meet you...Anyyaaaaaaa~"
He liked that name, Miles found it was fun to say it.
